Weigh In Approaching

The first weigh-in of the approaching Pacquiao vs Marquez fight will be thirty days before the mega-event this Nov 12 inside the MGM Grand Arena. This time, the weight class Pacquiao and Marquez will fight is much higher compared to the first time and second time they fought, which were at 126 lbs (featherweight division - 2004) and (super featherweight - 2008) respectively.

Handled by the NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commission), the thirty-day pre-fight Pacquiao vs Marquez weigh in is administered by a doctor or representative of the commission, to determine if the boxers are fit for their upcoming fight.

To ensure both boxers are comfortable at lowering their weights four weeks before the fight, the pre-fight weigh-in limit of 159 lbs will be checked. This is 15-pound above the agreed maximum weight limit on the final weigh-in at 144 lbs.

Even though Pacquiao will defend his WBO (World Boxing Organization) Welterweight Belt (147 lbs), the same belt he got from Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico in 2009, Manny and Juan Manuel's camp both agreed to fight at a "catch-weight" of 144 lbs.

A day before the fight, the final Pacquiao vs Marquez weigh in will happen. This weigh-in, unlike the 30-day pre-fight weigh-in, will be open to the public.

Before Pacman and Dinamita tip in the scales at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, their undercard will be the first to energize the fans through scuffles and shoving. There will be one announcer in favor of Pacquiao and another one, who knows Spanish, will be in favor of Marquez. Michael Buffer, the official ring announcer of HBO's big fights, will be the main announcer of the event.

Pacquiao vs Marquez weigh in
Because Manny has already fought in higher weights and has been, successful every time, Marquez is believed to be in trouble in this weight division. Floyd Mayweather outclassed Marquez the last time the latter fought at the Welterweight division.

On November 11, added here a day before the Pacquiao vs Marquez fight, are the results of the final weigh-in. Posted once it is available on Google are the photos and videos of the event.

Team Pacquiao Prepares for High-Altitude Training Camp in Baguio City

Already starting of his two weeks of training in the busy streets of Manila, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is anxious to start of training in the high altitude of Baguio City. Pacquiao is looking forward to some rusty, beef up training in high altitude to improve his stamina, skills and power pack combos. With a little bit of improvement training during the camp at Manila he has already shaken of a little bit of rust and now the old Pacquiao with (53-3-2,38 KO’s) is pumped up for his next fight with Marquez.
Pacquiao who wanted to get a jump start for his preparations for his lightweight championship match with Marquez stated that he is already ahead of schedule and ready to take on Baguio for some high altitude training. Pacquiao vs Marquez will meet for the third time on November 12 , the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Reaping the rewards from the first training program, Baguio City is the perfect place to build upon the skills that he has started in Manila. Together with his long time mentor and friend Freddie Roach, Team Pacquio is already geared up for the training.

While others might think Marquez is another fighter who has passed beyond his prime, the said rumor has been debunked by Marquez himself stating that he can still pull the old strings that he has done before. Unlike the fight between Mosely and Pacquiao with a disappointing performance, Marquez on the other hand said to his fans that this would not end up in another boring fight. The fight between Pacquiao and Marquez should pull an advantage to Paquiao as their matchup is perfect as two fighters are conditionally fit and both have the same skills compared to Pacquiao’s previous fighters. This could rather be a tune-up fight for Pacquiao as there would likely be a chance for a Mayweather fight early next year.

Marquez’s Aggressive Moves Might Be His Downfall; Pacquiao Gains New Fan

It looks like the champion Manny Pacquiao garnered respect from fans worldwide but come to think of it even Ex-girlfriend of Hugh Hefner aka “Girl Next Door”, Brodget Marquardt was spotted near team Pacquiao. Marquard told reporters that while she served as host of Max Jacques Entertainment, she was wooed by Pacquiao’s story. The blond beauty is the newly convert to Pacquiao’s punch and will be cheering during their fight faceoff with Marquez.
Munching on his favorite steamed lobster, Pacquiao told reporters that he couldn’t stop his hands on getting a piece of Marquez. It seems that the fighter does not only wants steamed lobster for dinner but a fired Marquez would be a nicer treat. Both fighters have fought it before that both ended up in a controversial draw with many other people spark rumors.

Coach Freddie Roach has regarded Marquez could have set up his own downfall by playing to aggressively. Roach who is respected for his opinions that would always succeed has predicted that the fight between Pacquiao vs Marquez will end up upsetting the vengeful Marquez. Being prophetic in his past predictions, Roach is confident enough to upset Marquez by Pacquiao’s killer combo in under five rounds. Marquez’s aggressiveness might cost him the fight and eventually be his downfall. Pacquiao’s split decision in 2008 started waves of mysteries and intrigue despite Marquez ending up on the floor three times. While it may be a good sign that Marquez’s aggressiveness proves to be working, the same moves will still be applied during their third fight. “He’s become little more aggressive,” Roach said in an interview. The more aggressive a fighter is the more he is prone to weak angles to be exploited during the fight. In the end both fighters will prove their right who is the greatest as they meet this coming Nov 12. At Las Vegas.

Lack of focus will catch up with Pacquiao – Beristain

MANILA, Philippines – Juan Manuel Marquez’ trainer, Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain, believes that lack of focus on boxing will soon catch up with Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao.
“Everything I do now is point to Juan Ma, and to beating Manny Pacquiao on November 12,” Beristain told Examiner.com.
“The world may be shocked, but Pacquiao will be defeated,” the Mexican trainer added.
Beristain pointed to Pacquiao’s numerous activities outside of the boxing ring, which includes a music and political career.
“He has a lack of focus, and Juan Ma will take advantage of this. Being a fighter, a congressman, a singer, all of this will finally catch up to Manny,” Beristain said.
Beristain said Marquez knows Pacquiao in a way no other fighter in the world does.
“Pacquiao is a great one, yes, but no other fighter knows him, after 24 rounds, like my fighter does,” he said.
Pacquiao, however, insisted that boxing is still his passion.
“Boxing is my passion, singing is my hobby, and being a congressman, I want to serve people and help them,” Pacquiao said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.
Their bout on November 12 will be the 3rd meeting between Pacquiao and Marquez.
Both of their previous fights have gone the distance, with Pacquiao settling for a draw in their 2004 meeting, and winning via split decision in the 2008 rematch.
But Marquez has repeatedly insisted over the years that he was the true winner in both matches, something that has irked the Filipino boxer.
